Summary

‘The new queen of the rom-com returns’ i

‘Saucy… fizzing comedy in this slice of escapism’ Metro

‘Full of wit, warmth and heart’ Beth O’Leary, The Flatshare

‘You want me to write a list? Like a shopping list?'

Gwendolyn nodded。 'Exactly。 But for what you want from a man, not ASDA。’

Florence Fairfax isn’t lonely。 She loves her job at the little bookshop in Chelsea and her beloved cat Marmalade keeps her company at night。 She might have been single for quite a while – well, forever actually, if anyone’s asking – but she’s perfectly happy, thank you。 And then Florence meets eccentric love coach Gwendolyn, and everything changes。

When Gwendolyn makes Florence write a wish list describing her perfect man, Florence refuses to take it seriously。 Finding someone who likes cats, has the sexual athleticism of James Bond and can overlook her ‘counting’ habit? Impossible! Until, later that week, a handsome blond man asks for help in the bookshop…

Rory seems to fit the list perfectly。 But is he ‘the one’, or simply too good to be true? Florence is about to find out that her criteria for Mr Right aren’t as important as she thought – and that perhaps she’s been looking for love in all the wrong places…

‘The perfect escapist read!’ Cressida McLaughlin, The Cornish Cream Tea Summer

Even though it was quite predictable who Florence is going to end up with, it was a please reading this book。 Florence's habit of always counting to predict if she has a good or bad experience was quite funny, on the top of that having a critical step mom who makes you visit a love coach sounded like the perfect plot! I loved the book so much that as soon as i finished it, i was already reading the synopsis for Sophia's previous books。 Even though it was quite predictable who Florence is going to end up with, it was a please reading this book。 Florence's habit of always counting to predict if she has a good or bad experience was quite funny, on the top of that having a critical step mom who makes you visit a love coach sounded like the perfect plot! I devoured this book in a day and just could not put it down。 I loved the pacing, the storylines。 the characters and the writing style was so enjoyable to read。 There was a little part that made me sob but other than that I had so much fun reading this book and am so unbelievably happy with the way it ended。 I definitely want to read more of Sophia Money-Coutts work in the near future。

Hilarious!

Brilliantly written and totally relatable。 Great characterisation and warm, friendly protagonists。 Equally laugh out loud and cringeworthy in places。 Marmalade almost did me in。 Can’t wait to read more by this author。

loved this, a delightful read

This was a perfect audiobook! I loved the story, and I loved the narration。 The fact that the author narrated it was, as the author stated “simply marvelous!”

NS Chua

Disappointing。 There was minimal narrative on the relationship developing。 It came almost too suddenly at the end, as if the author suddenly remembered she was supposed to make our heroine find true love。The only reason I kept reading was because I liked the side characters。 They had personality。 If the author could do they same for Mr Right, this would be a more enjoyable book。

Charles

Funny read

Vanessa Jones

Quite enjoyed this book! Easy to read, great development。 Nothing to full in。 Just what I needed

I loved this book。 I listened to the audio book which was read by the author。 I found that both her voice and her writing reminded me of Phoebe Waller-Bridge。 I loved the characters and the fact that a bookshop features prominantly。 It's a lovely feel good read which gave me Fleabag vibes, a nice lockdown escapistic book。 I loved this book。 I listened to the audio book which was read by the author。 I found that both her voice and her writing reminded me of Phoebe Waller-Bridge。 I loved the characters and the fact that a bookshop features prominantly。 It's a lovely feel good read which gave me Fleabag vibes, a nice lockdown escapistic book。 。。。more

I found it difficult to get into this book initially but when I did it got really funny。 I've read books by this author before and really enjoyed them。 It's about Flo who lives with her stepsisters who feels lonely and a bit cut-off from them。 She works in a bookshop and one day a man from her wishlist enters the shop and they start dating。 The book goes on to prove that what you think you want isn't necessarily what you need。 I found it difficult to get into this book initially but when I did it got really funny。 I've read books by this author before and really enjoyed them。 It's about Flo who lives with her stepsisters who feels lonely and a bit cut-off from them。 She works in a bookshop and one day a man from her wishlist enters the shop and they start dating。 The book goes on to prove that what you think you want isn't necessarily what you need。 。。。more

⭐️⭐️⭐️。5I’m struggling to sum this book up in all honesty because whilst I really did enjoy it, it is unnecessarily long and a bit chaotic in places。 It’s a basic story - girl struggles to find boyfriend and then falls fast for the wrong one。 However! I’m still giving it 3。5 stars because I really liked Florence。 Lovely Florence and her counting, her games of Consequences and her love for her 17 year old cat Marmalade。 I loved her sisters and I even enjoyed the daft character of her step mother。 ⭐️⭐️⭐️。5I’m struggling to sum this book up in all honesty because whilst I really did enjoy it, it is unnecessarily long and a bit chaotic in places。 It’s a basic story - girl struggles to find boyfriend and then falls fast for the wrong one。 However! All in all a fun read, especially if you’re a big fan of chic lit tropes。 Please note this ebook was gifted to me via #netgalley in exchange for an honest review。 The Wish List is available now。 。。。more

Such a fun Cinderella spin。 This is an excellent funny heartfelt romance。 You can’t help falling in love with the hapless nerdy Florence while she does all the wrong things while trying to convince herself they’re right。 I can’t wait to read more Money-Coutts。

4。5 stars - with this book completed, I’ve now read all three books written by Sophia Money-Coutts。 She has become one of my favourite authors。 The characters are always interesting and funny and the storyline is always engaging。 If you enjoyed her other books, this is a must read。
